This event apparently started about 8 years ago in October, when the Gascoyne River had water in it. It was a water event - boats, kayaks etc.. The following year they went to run it again but there was no water, so they raced vehicles down the river bed instead. It has now turned into a serious event for motor bikes, quads, buggies, and 4WD's. It runs from Gascoyne Junction to Carnarvon. (See their website).
Day 1 is a prologue to sort out the starting order, day 2 they race round tracks near Gascoyne Junction, day 3 they race down the river bed to Carnarvon.
